DESCRIPTION:American cellist Sterling Elliott\, the 2021 Avery Fisher Caree
 r Grant winner and a BBC Next-Generation Artist\, returns to Millbrook thi
 s May for a special family event. It's a perfect opportunity for young aud
 iences to develop an appreciation for live music in a welcoming setting\, 
 sitting up close with Elliott as he shares insights into the cello.\n\nThi
 s free family event is presented by Millbrook Music Salon in partnership w
 ith the Millbrook Library.\nSterling Elliot\n\nCellist\nAcclaimed for his 
 stellar stage presence and joyous musicianship\, cellist Sterling Elliott 
 is a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and the winner of the Senior
  Division of the 2019 National Sphinx Competition. He has appeared with ma
 jor orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra\, the New York Philharmo
 nic\, the Boston Symphony\, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Los Angeles Ph
 ilharmonic.\nIn the 2024/2025 season Sterling Elliott debuts with the Atla
 nta Symphony\, Reno Philharmonic\, Columbus Symphony\, Ann Arbor Symphony\
 , Des Moines Symphony\, Winston-Salem Symphony\, and returns to the Wilmin
 gton Symphony. He joins the Madison Symphony for the Beethoven Triple Conc
 erto with Gil and Orli Shaham and returns to Carnegie Hall with the Orches
 tra of St. Luke’s led by Louis Langree.\nAs the YCAT–Music Masters Rob
 ey Artist with the London-based Young Classical Artists Trust he will Tour
  New Zealand in addition to appearances at Wigmore Hall\, Hamburg’s Elbp
 hilharmonie\, Konzerthaus Berlin\, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and othe
 rs.  This season he also begins his tenure as a BBC New Generation Artist
 \, and a three-year residency in the Bowers Program of the Chamber Music S
 ociety of Lincoln Center appearing with CMLSC at Alice Tully Hall and on t
 our throughout the U.S.\nSterling is pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Jui
 lliard School under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick and Clara Kim\, followin
 g completion of his Master of Music and undergraduate degrees at Juilliard
 .He performs on a 1741 Gennaro Gagliano cello on loan through the Robert F
 . Smith Fine String Patron Program\, in partnership with the Sphinx Organi
