The Spring Season is ready at Millbrook Music Salon!
Presented across venues including Bennett Park, the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Grace Church, Lyall Community Church, and Stonewood Farm, this season brings internationally recognized artists to Millbrook while expanding access to live music through community partnerships and educational programs.
The season features a wide range of performances, from the rising star Trio Azura in the deep freeze of January, violinist Kristin Lee and pianist John Novacek in a vibrant program celebrating American music two weeks ago, to pianist Julia Hamos in the International Piano Series. Swedish guitarist Jacob Kellermann and violist Luosha Fang appear in our first collaboration with the Cary Institute, while Canadian cellist Arlen Hlusko brings an intimate solo recital to Stonewood Farm. A contemporary music program by the Greenroom Ensemble brings together leading young artists including Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient Sterling Elliott.
Education remains central to our work. This spring, Millbrook Music Salon brings world-class musicians to school assemblies at Dutchess Day School and Alden Place Elementary School, free of cost to the institutions, introducing local students to performances and interactive demonstrations with visiting artists.
This spring season season also includes two FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS in May
1. May 24 (Memorial Day Weekend): In collaboration with Millbrook Arts Group, open-air Concert Truck by Chinese pianist Susan Zhang and Artistic Director Sophia Zhou perform in Bennett Park—bring your picnic blanket, family, and snacks.
2. Friday, May 29: The Balourdet Quartet and clarinetist Graeme Steele Johnson present a program at Lyall Community Church, centered on Viet Cuong’s new clarinet quintet Compass.
Across concerts, partnerships, and educational initiatives, Millbrook Music Salon continues to build a cultural home for chamber music in the reconnecting world-class artists with audiences in intimate and meaningful ways.
